SOUTH AFRICAN FASHION WEEK 2010 : THE BUSINESS OF FASHION

South African Fashion Week 2010 : the business of fashion . That was the caption heading the  the largest fashion show in South African and it did indeed live the words of the caption and designers Ephraim of Ephymol , Soda , Chimera , DM Classic's , TWO , GUGULAM and Darkie all show cased at  the 2010 SAFW. This was but the few designers who layed the fabric light for summber and headed the SAFW.

The cover for the November issue features one of the Desingners Darkie whom made things at bit shorter this Summer for 2010 and when December  the whole of SA  know how to celebrate summer. Hoping that we will live the spirit and dress less but not exposing , it can be a trendy fashionable summer. And remember the more local you support the better the SA  has over it's internal consumer good to  be manufactured and supporting local designers can prove to be a better inspiration for them and their pocket  to keep you the market happy with more quality and exceptional designs. FW  

Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer Men's 2011 Inspiration

The Milan Men's Fashion Week 2011 inspiration, Men dressed by men. The 2011 insperation something  of  a cool and light life feeling  were dark colours play a minor role in defining what a man is. The liberty that FW takes in exploring how a man should dress is one we take serious and important. At the fron row you could basicaly image being dressed with the swave of Armani to the class of  Ermenegildo Zegna & Z Zegna

and the elegance of Gucci and McQueen not forgetting the playfull nature of Prada. The colours to elaborate were distictions of each designers character feel and FW feel in love with the light  colours af beidges and whites and Light blues , but summer can take on those colours but Spring is more of loud and must be treated with caution when dressing a man, not to be monotized as this looks a bit too much for the eye.  

You would fall in love with the sailor look as navies and royal blus make their way with white pants and not forgetting the peacefull greys as people never take them as  a summer colour, but you would be surprised with a mix of yellow or  sky blue the colour plays it's tricks on the eye and makes you fall in love  with it.

Never settle when it comes to colour dressing as the clichéd average man is said to dress in dark as though he had dressed in the dark. FW

FACE OF AFRICA 2010

The 2010 FOA winner : Lukundo Nolungwe

The highlighht for African models wanna be's as they go against each other to obtain the crowning of be africa's next super model who makes it in the fashion industry. The Face Of Africa 2010 was one of tears an joy for Lukundo Nolungwe from Zambia who won the judges over  and made her the next to strut the international ramp with prices from Iman Cosmetics from the legendary Model herself Iman and a 1 year contract with Omodelafrica and a stay at one of the international Fashion Capitals New York the Big Apple and not forgeting sponsers such as Redds and Lagos  the Host City for 2010 FOA .

The show revealed africa's best in fashion with  David Tlale . Bella Mafia and more and the models proved they can compete with the world best and take it to the high, as it was one of those shows you would not want to miss. I simply fell in love with the whole event and it capatured that true African print on the graments designed. FW see you enxt year and who will take 2011 FOA . FW

CAPE TOWN FASHION WEEK 2010/2011

The Cape Town Fashion Week 2010/2011 hosted at the CT ICC in the fore front for spring. The year 2010 brought so much for the city of Cape Town with the 2010 Soccer World Cup, who will forget. But getting back to those of us that live for fabric and style. This years CTFW  was a stunner in the reference to the fabric, patterns and style used to create the 2010/2011 fashion week. Designers such as Craig Native , Craig Port , David West, Kluk CGDT, Suzaan Heyns , Stoned Cherrie  and more graced the White Rape which at some point in the show did change, made a spectacular show case and inspired those of us who lack the aspiration. The flare these designers show in there garments  as the models adorned what would be defined as the Art of CTFW .

The fashion people attending are the socialites of the South African and African Fashion industry the "Fashionista's" of dress making. Not to be surprised by the attendance of Dr Precious Motsepe with her Husband on the side Million air mogul and the cream of the crope  in the entertainment industry

It was a show to remember hosted from the 13 August 2010. FW    

ARISE AFRICA FASHION WEEK 2010

The  Arise Africa fashion Week  an event that celebrates African fashion not only from Africa but from around the world. the year 2009  was a great year for those on the unknow and making their make. 2010 on the other hand seems to amaze as every designers had their claws out  and no one was taking it laying down.

Just a preview of the above shows as to who ruled and who decided they would follow. from Heni with the Hault Coutor  to Tlali with the floral for spring just seems to be survival of the fitest and who has what it takes to rule .
